The fellow on the left is definitely Billy
Slayton; the one on the right is Walter J Smith, myself. I have no memory of what we were doing,
where we were going, or when it was taken. The only other clue I have is the weapons were CAR-15s, a
weapon we didn't get issued until late summer of 1968.
