From Jack "Spider" Webb:
This when I was a FAC in Laos in 1966. I am 2nd from the left. Third from left is Jim Betts, the CAS Inc. pilot who got $35 an hour to fly me.
As far as directing air strikes, CCT was doing that from the time of Capt. Eggleston at Hurlburt. The guys TDY to
Vietnam in '62 actively engaged in that activity. That is where our first KIA occurred. Foxx was killed in a U-10 while directing strikes. To the best of my knowledge there were 5 of us (enlisted CCT)
directing strikes in Laos: Myself, Don Carlyle, Jim Stanford, Charlie Jones and Ron Kosh. So, CAS is not new to CCT.
