123rd Special Tactics Flight, Kentucky Air National Guard
Louisville, Kentucky

Fact Sheet
Unit News

Fact Sheet

Originally started in 1989, the 123rd STF is the only Reserve Component unit possessing Combat Controllers (both the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command have 3 Pararescue units each), currently having 20 CCT operators assigned and two Pararescuemen. Both numbers are projected to rise dramatically as the unit has received notification that it will become a full Special Tactics Squadron within the next six months.

Far from being a "traditional" weekend Guard unit, most part-timers come in several times a month to stay current on jumps, dives, shooting, ATC, SOTAC, etc. Additionally, the 123rd conducts several unit and team training trips annually.  To find out more about the 123rd please visit their web site at: www.kyang.ang.af.mil
